A maven in the celebrated electronic music industry in Los Angeles,
Tom Wilson grew up just outside of L.A. in the artistic pockets of Topanga Canyon.
His teens brought an awareness of the second wave of golden age hip-hop:
Several years of gigging in local bands led to some frustration,
In 1996, Wilson arrived at a party to find a DJ spinning the hottest house of the day.
Too late however, as the seeds were sown.
Fast forward a decade and a half, and Sweatson Klank
His Sketchbook night laid the groundwork for the vaunted Low End Theory,

[FUTUREBEAT] Take aka Sweatson Klank - Elevate Me

Kwala - Sipp Flip
I would argue that juke, as a genre, is somewhat pigeonholed. While yes, there some artists who find themselves struggling to grasp the full capabilities of juke, composers like that of Kwala trail blaze the somewhat infantine genre and deliver air’s which express the subtler side of the genre. Case in mesmerizing point “Sipp Flip.” Not only is Kwala’s new track meditative and strangely charming, it also heralds some of juke’s most fundamental characteristics. With the Robert Glasper Experiment ‘Move Love’ Contest coming to an end tomorrow (Monday - Feb. 20th), our brethren B. Lewis was able to finish and upload his remix and perspective of Move Love. This is definitely one of our new top 3 remixes for this contest. Something about the way he kicked off the intro and slowed down the tempo of the vocals is what reeled us in. This track is deep! Enjoy this one!
Your Heart by Mokhov
Mokhov is one of our favorite producers.
He’s been crafting high-quality remixes like midas but this release is his second set of original work (the first being Halcyon Days).
I’m really excited to announce my next release of original tunes: the 4-track Kickback EP, on Made in Glitch Records. It’s a bit more futuristic and glitch-y than my Halcyon Days album. It sounds like a cross between Prefuse 73 and Royksopp.
